About Eisenstat Candy Co
Eisenstat Candy History
Founded by Charles Eisenstat in 1919, Eisenstat Candy Company has remained a family operated business passed through several generations of the Eisenstat Family.
Eisenstat Candy Company was initially established in the family home in the Hill District of Pittsburgh, PA. Charles Eisenstat then moved the business to a warehouse in the Hill District. In 1969 the business burned to the ground during the riots following the assassination of Martin Luther King. Many Pittsburgh merchants rallied and offered temporary warehouse space to the Eisenstats until a new location was found.
Eisenstat Candy Company relocated to its present location at 112 Saint Joseph Street in the Mt Oliver area of Pittsburgh.
Over the years Eisenstat Candy Company was operated by Sam and Milton Eisenstat. Eventually the business was handed down to Robert Eisenstat, SamÂ’s only son.
Today the business continues its reputation of customer service and quality merchandise to itÂ’s customers throughout Pittsburgh and the surrounding areas.
Robert Eisenstat is currently the President and Owner of the company and is continuing the family tradition with his wife Mary Lynn and their two children.
