From the ground up, Ritchie's Food Distributor began with an unfortunate circumstance, an idea, and the dedication between husband and wife. That dream of beginning a meat processing business has become a thriving reality for Jim and Nancy Ritchie.
In 1958 the basic foundation began with Honesty, a Handshake, Customer Loyalty, Top Quality Products, and most of all the Help Of God. The couple took only what they had and turned it into what is now a multi-million dollar corporation.
The Ritchie family is continuously reinvesting and adding new product lines daily to meet customer needs. Growth and demand have allowed Ritchie's Food Distributor to expand from a small freezer to a 30,000 square foot refrigerated storage warehouse and from one small truck to a fleet of delivery vehicles canvassing Southern Ohio.
Jim and Nancy continue to participate in the business, but have passed on most of their duties to their children and the expanded staff and laborers. Their son, James P. Ritchie is now the CEO and major buyer for Ritchie's Food Distributor. His sisters, Twila Suter and Joyce Lightle are both Vice Presidents and assist in product line choices and order entry.
