About Glazier Packing Co Inc
Glazier Packing Company had it earliest beginnings back in 1903 when Howard A. Glazier started a meat and grocery store in Owls Head NY, deep in the Adirondack Mountains. During the summer months his son Albon would make deliveries by horse and buggy to the neighboring resorts of Indian Lake and Mountain View.
In 1918 Albon moved to Malone NY to start his own store and a few years later hired a German sausage maker to produce what is known today as the famous Glazier Red Frankfurter. The business flourished and Albon incorporated the business in 1923.
Soon Glazier Packing Company was manufacturing a wide variety of products including Sausage, Bacon, Loafs, Bologna, and Frankfurters.
Everest Glazier followed his father into the family business and continued managing it until his retirement in 1971. His sons John & Howard continued the expansion of the business by purchasing McCarthy, Deno and Coulty Meat Company in 1973 and Pahler Packing in the 1991.
In 1997 GlazierÂ’s expanded their product offerings and became a full-line foodservice distributor, servicing restaurants, delis, retail, and C-stores. Then in 2005, JohnÂ’s son Shawn came back to run the company after years of working with national food service companies. Shawn Glazier is the fifth generation to own and operate GlazierÂ’s.
