Founded in 1973 by Jean and Shelton Knapp, United Restaurant Supply has served Colorado for over 45 years. Jean, a second generation Colorado Native and the daughter of a Denver business owner, followed in her father's entrepreneurial footsteps. Shelton, a Navy Veteran and farmer's son, loved people and food, especially Jean's cooking, a combination that led them to the restaurant industry.
Jean and Shelton found that successfully operating a business in the food industry required much more than great food. It required detailed operations and an understanding of equipment, supplies, chemicals, and health regulations. It required effectively training and managing staff on daily operations. Understanding these requirements, led them to start United Restaurant Supply with the goal of helping others in the industry by offering convenience, industry experience, equipment knowledge, great service, trustworthy brands and flexibility.
In 1997, Jean and Shelton's sons, John and Roger Boyles, bought United Restaurant Supply. They committed themselves to carrying on their parents' legacy and commitment to both their customers and employees. Today, with the continued leadership of Roger Boyles, we aspire to make our services to you continuously better by evaluating food-service trends and adjusting for them, by regularly training our staff on industry equipment and services, by remaining flexible to your needs, and by making purchasing equipment and supplies for your businesses convenient.
