Hailing from Gioiosa Marina, a small town in southeastern Calabria, Italy, Domenico Coluccio immigrated to the United States in 1958 with the vision of achieving the “American Dream.” While operating a deli in 1962, Domenico began offering imported Italian products to serve the needs of many Italian immigrants in the area. As the import business began to grow, Domenico and his sons Luigi and Rocco established D. Coluccio and Sons in 1964 at the corner of 59th Street and 13th Avenue. As the Italian-American population continued to grow, the company expanded its business and products, so it relocated to its current location at 1214 60th Street in Brooklyn, NY
Over 52 years later, the legacy continues through DomenicoÂ’s three children: Luigi, Rocco, and Cathy. The Coluccio family and their loyal staff offer a superior customer service experience to assist patrons and businesses. Friendly service allows retail patrons to explore ingredients and seasonal imported products. They offer wholesalers and distributors guidance and competitive prices to satisfy their business needs.
