About General Sales Co of Ashland Inc
General Sales Company was owned by the family of Chuck Woolery. On March 30, 1968, Paper Supply Company headed by Lee M. Kerley, Jr. purchased General Sales Company. The company grew under the leadership of Lee M. Kerley, Jr. and Mike Vinciguerra for 13 years as part of Paper Supply Company. In March of 1979, Lee M. Kerley, Jr. passed away suddenly at the age of 54.
In March 1981, the board of Paper Supply Company approved the sale of General Sales Company to its current owner Lee M. Kerley III. Located in a small 7500 square foot warehouse and office on Blackburn Avenue in Ashland, Kentucky, the company continued to grow. In 1982, General Sales Company purchased 3 ½ acres in the Paul Coffey Industrial Park and built a 22,500 square foot warehouse with an additional 5,000 square foot office space and showroom.
In May 2007 General Sales Company completed its move into new corporate headquarters and distribution center at East Park. The new facility is located on a 14.5 acre tract at 229 North Commerce Drive, Grayson, KY 41143. Our new 80,000 square foot facility almost triples our previous space and allows us to handle a larger variety and inventory of products for our customers. We continue to strive to give our customers quality products along with quality service.
