AJS Inc. is made up of a family of companies dedicated to meeting customers Janitorial Supply needs. The team consists of Athens Janitor Supply, Roman Chemical, and Augusta Janitorial Supplies. Located in Athens, Augusta, and Rome, Georgia, they work together to deliver quality products to all of North Georgia and parts of South Carolina.
Charles and Agnes Davis started this company in 1960 on Chase St. in Athens, GA. They began their business by selling commercial cleaning supplies, which were basically mops, buckets, and other simple cleaning items. As the Janitor Supply industry grew, so did the AJS Inc. business which allowed the company to move to the facility where we are now located, on Old Hull Road. In 1979 Jim Chittom Sr. took ownership of the business and with his hard work and dedication molded AJS Inc. into what it is today. With AJS Inc.Â’s continued success he was able to expand and purchase Roman Chemical in 1992 followed by Augusta Janitorial Supplies in 2014.
For 50+ years Athens Janitor Supply and Roman Chemical have been serving Northeast and Northwest Georgia in the janitorial supplies, equipment, and services business. With the addition of Augusta Janitorial Supplies, the AJS Inc. team of companies coverage area has increased to the Augusta and North Augusta region. All three companies working together has not only strengthened the core business model, it has allowed for continued growth in providing loyal customers with better products and services.
Jim Chittom Sr. knew his locations were in good hands under the leadership of his sons. With Jim Chittom, Jr. leading Roman Chemical and John Chittom leading Athens Janitor Supply, Jim Chittom, Sr. took charge of Augusta Janitorial Supplies. Now, this family of companies works toward its mission of providing customers with quality products and knowledgeable solutions that will get their job done.
