About Stacy Williams Co
The company was founded in June 1923 when Mr. Claude Bennett and Mr. Stacy Williams began a partnership to manufacture and distribute Yellow Label Table Syrup from a small building on the West side of Birmingham.
Yellow Label Table Syrup was very successful due to the all natural recipe and high content of honey.
The company expanded to include the sale of cigarettes, tobacco and candy. The business developed into one of the leading wholesalers in Alabama, servicing wholesalers and such national accounts as A & P and K-Mart.
As the market declined for table syrup, the Yellow Label brand was sold to Alaga Whitfield in 1975.
As the company expanded, so did the product line to include Health and Beauty products, general merchandise, snacks, sporting goods and vending products.
The company was purchased by W.L. Petrey Wholesale in 1994 moving to a new facility and expanding the distribution of vending products and adding prison facilities to its customer base.
